Sure....why not....can't be much more of a let down than a Floyd reunion only to be crushed 48 hours later!! But this one....this one is WAYY more realistic, and TRUE. A friend of mine that Piko and I met in England (JCE, Piko) talked to PP Arnold (ran into her somewhere) and asked her about things and she said that Roger asked her to set aside 9 months in 2005 ;D !!! Now this doesnt mean anything definate.....but sounds like 2005 is our next shot at Roger and he MIGHT even have finally released his album by then! Thats all I have right now. www.rogerwatersonline.com/pp_arnold_confirms_9_months_window_in_2005.htmEric

2005? No way . . . that's way too soon for Roger :-)
Speaking of Roger taking 10 years to complete a record, whatever happened to the opera he was working on . . . the French thing . . . has he ever finished it, given up on it . . . anyone know anything?

"Ca Ira", I believe... somebody just sent me a performance of the overture (the only thing performed live from it so far, I think). Pico or PLPF (or anyone else) - who has more info on this, let us hear from ya! Eroc

"Ca Ira", I believe... somebody just sent me a performance of the overture (the only thing performed live from it so far, I think). Pico or PLPF (or anyone else) - who has more info on this, let us hear from ya! Eroc Of course I have info...I didn't think anyone cared about Ca Ira, lol. To be honest I'm quite sick of it because it keeps getting put ahead of his rock album thus pushing off the ensuing tour...not to mention it has been 10 years since ATD came out (you poor souls who have been fans since then....I cant imagine...Ive only been a fan for less than 3 years...ok obsessed fan). Anyways, in my opinion it sounds like a work of Andrew Lloyd Weber who Roger loathes, in general, not just because he Lloyd-Weber stole the echoes theme... anyways....here is all the latest on Roger.... UPDATE FROM ROGER'S MANAGER _____Mark Fenwick has emailed RWO on a few rumours that are circulating about Roger's plans for 2004. He has said James Guthrie is not working on a 5.1 mix of 'The Wall (possible 25th anniv. Nov '04 SACD). He also said that, "the idea of a concert for Ca Ira at the Place de la Concorde is no more than a consideration." I received an email from a City planner in Paris who said Roger was looking at performing an evening concert in June, at the Place de la Concorde. Given the historical implications of this location, any concert would be Roger's opera Ca Ira. Roger Waters main creative driving force for 2004 remains finishing and releasing Ca Ira. PP ARNOLD CONFIRMS 2005 TOUR? _____PP Arnold has confirmed she has been asked by Roger, to put aside 9 months in 2005 for a possible tour. John a friend of R.W.O. saw PP live last week and had a brief chat. PP is currently on the 'Manfreds tour of the UK. 9 months would suggest possible studio time and rehearsal time and almost definitely a world tour. Thanks again to John Elliott for the heads up on this. Further tour dates and other news from 'The Manfreds tour can be accessed here. Also check out PP Arnold's home page here. Thats all I really know factual-wise now....everything else is just speculation. Eric

Thanks for the info. Do I want to see Roger put off a follow up to ATD? Hell no . . . but, I was just at least a bit curious about what had happened to the opera.
And, yes . . . I'm one of the guys who HAS been waiting ten years for the ATD follow up :-) . . . and since I haven't listened to that in a LONG time, it due for a spin on the CD player . . .

ROGER WATERS OPERA FOR EU CELEBRATIONS ____Roger Waters' will play 15 minutes of his opera 'Ca Ira, during Malta's EU entry celebrations on Friday, 30th April. The concert will be held at the Grand Harbour. The opera will be accompanied by a manifestation of light, courtesy of world-renowned German Gert Hof, who is known for his spectacular and unique works of art. The event will run from 8.30 pm to 12.30 am. The Grand Harbour will initially be split into six different stages featuring several local bands and musicians. The event will be televivised live as Malta count down to their introduction into the EU on May 1st. The Grand Harbour can be viewed below. www.my-malta.com/malteseislands/window_GRH_2003.htmlAdditional News: ROGER WATERS CA IRA MALTA UPDATE ____I have received an email update on this event and it seems that the fifteen minutes of Ca Ira will not be performed live. What seems to be planned is while 'Ca Ira is played over speakers, a full on visual show will light up the night sky. Gert Hof; who famously transformed 'The Red Square in Moscow, (September 2003 *see pic) will join Ross Aston (responsible for PIGI projections '99 and '00 ITF tours) and they will provide the visual landscaping while Roger's opera is heard. I am assured Roger will attend the event but no live music from Roger will be performed. I will seek some kind of clarrification on all the details regarding this event on Monday.
