Jeff, I recently had a floyd experience with a band called Echoes of Pompeii. They played here in Indy at the Eight Second Saloon. An enjoyable evening simple cause it was Floyd music but left a whole lot to be desired.
They had some great moments, and I do mean only moments as most of the band members were attempting solo tangents that just left a lot to be desired. Was it my fix for floyd...no way, but just makes me that much more appreciative that I follow Eroc and gang.
See you in April.

When the Pink Floyd Experience were in town, I was invited by their guitarist Tom Quinn to come & visit them for soundcheck (I had my own gig that night so I was unable to attend the show).... Tom has always been very gracious - whenever they've been in the area, I've had a standing invite to meet them. The band members were very nice & accommodating, and their production (sound & lights) was certainly world-class and very impressive... the band began as "Pink Froyd" out of San Diego and they were picked up a few years ago by a Canadian production company to tour as the PFX. Did anybody else out there get the chance to see them?

Hello Eroc, Greetings from the Baltimore area. The Pink Floyd Experience did just come through my area. I caught the show in Lancaster, Pa. They were also playing in Wilmington, De. but as the rest of their tours, I elect to only see one of their gigs per tour. I guess that says something. Don't get me wrong, they definately do a good job. Like any band, there is room for criticism. Tom Quinn is absolutely superb. Very good Gilmour guitarist. He definately carries the rest of the band. The bassist is good, the keyboardist is good, the new drummer is "ok" and the vocalist is horrible. He does not have a gilmour voice, he does not have a Waters voice and he stands there holding a guitar for most of the show without playing a note. I commend any band that puts in the time, money and effort to be a Pink Floyd tribute band. There are about 125 Pink Floyd tribute bands around the globe. I have been fortunate enough to see Wish You Were Here (6 times), The Machine (26 times), The Australian Pink Floyd Show (21 times), Several Species (5 times), Brain Damage (2 times), Echoes (once in Germany!), Blue Floyd (once) and The Pink Floyd Experience (3 times). I was supposed to see Think Floyd USA tomorrow but they canceled yesterday, 2 days before the gig (not very professional if you ask me). The only way PFX can tour like they do is because of sponsorship. They do have a fantastic light show and pretty good song list. They keep it more commercial for the general fans. I fly into Cleveland 3-4 times a year solely to see Wish You Were Here. I love your approach and presentation. And of course your more obscure set list. You have been kind enough to introduce me to the entire band and everyone in the band makes you feel like family. My loyalty definitely lands in Cleveland. I do hope to see Childhood's End someday. I'm told that they are very good. All the best to everyone in WYWH. See you April 11th. Oh, did you say that you are opening with Astronomy Domine? ?? Cheers to all, Atom Heart Father
