Hey now! Just a reminder that the Sugar Magnolia/Grateful Dead tribute show is tonite (Friday April 24) at Brother's Lounge in Cleveland. Featuring Wish You Were Here members Bob Gerhard, Jamie Combs & myself, plus WYWH former members/guests Jim Tigue & Tim Ginley, and powerhouse drummer Jim JR Richley (hookah, Bill Wharton/The Sauce Boss, Band of Brothers), we'll be kicking off the night at 9:30. Here's just a tease of what we're playing: Bertha, Masterpiece, Brown-Eyed Women, Tennessee, Don't Ease, Shakedown, Truckin', Sugar Magnolia, NFA, Deal... Needless to say, plenty of Dead for all you Heads!
Appropriate links in Jamie's post, above. Hope to see some WYWH fans out there dancing! Cheers - Eroc

How'd this show go? If you get some time, could you throw the setlist up here? I'd like to see what I missed there........
I still need to see Sugar Mags.....I kind of got to see them once at NLQP, but it was pouring and we caught only the last 5 songs or so. Sounds like it was shaping up to be a great show.

Sorry for the delay Eric, here's the Sugar Mags setlist from Brothers Lounge 4/24/09:
1st set BERTHA BIG RIVER MASTERPIECE BROWN-EYED WOMEN MAMA TRIED TENESSEE JED MR. CHARLIE FRANKLIN’S DON'T EASE ME IN
2nd Set SHAKEDOWN HE'S GONE > TRUCKIN’ > DRUMS> SPACE> BLACK MUDDY RIVER SUGAR MAGNOLIA NOT FADE AWAY encore: THE WEIGHT DEAL
It was a real fun show... the crowd turnout was a little disappointing - the club didn't do much to promote it, and we were so busy working on the WYWH shows for that month that we also slacked a bit on getting the word out as well. The recording showed that Jim's guitar amp wasn't mic'ed until 'Mr. Charlie', but overall the sets were strong - good grooves (Jim 'JR' Richley on drums & Tim Ginley on percussion) and the vocal harmonies were probably the best they've ever been.... very cool 'Space' too - looking forward to listening to it again with a more 'enhanced' state of mind, lol...

Sounds like a cool show. I wish I could've been there. I really want to see Sugar Mag's again....bad. I actually spun the 1996-2000 complilation album on my iPod the other day driving back and forth between Chicago (Irv had been in the hospital, pretty sick.....but he's out and doing better, although not fully recovered yet). It's funny, I hadn't been to the board since the day you made this post when I glanced at it briefly, but lacked the time to take it in. Then last night I was walking around doing some cleaning around my house and had "Time" going in my head like crazy....the funny part is that about the time I hit the guitar solo.....I realized it was the sound of Wish You Were Here playing "Time" that I had going in my head rather than Pink Floyd lol (not that the sound is too different....but definitely your voices and Mark's guitar. I still cannot stress what a great time I had at the last Columbus show!!!!!! I can't wait to see you guys again......hopefully the next HOB show. Post the "Space" Hope all is well! Eric
