When is the band coming back to Columbus in 2010? While the Newport always lends itself to an amazing atmosphere for your shows, any thoughts on doing another outdoor show at the LC like back in '06?

Welcome to the Forum, and thanks for the question.
We just confirmed Saturday April 17 at the Newport Music Hall, where for the first time in Columbus we will be performing both the Animals and Wish You Were Here albums in their entirety!
The LC Pavilion is a great venue and I do miss playing there, with the outdoor stage being fun to play on a nice summer night. However, after a few years of playing there, our audience draw was decreasing to the point that it wasn't profitable for the promoter or us... a lot of the OSU students (that make up a good percent of our audience in Columbus) weren't making it out to the venue, and our last summer show there depressingly small, to be honest. So for now, we're down to 2 plays a year in Columbus - that seems to be the most your market can handle of us, lol...
Thanks for your support and we'll see you in Columbus April 17! Cheers - Eroc

Sounds like the perfect weekend for a roadtrip to hear a couple of my favorite albums.
See you there.

Been a while since I've dropped in here....and I see this. Man am I stoked!! I will be making every effort to come to this show so hopefully I see some of you there. Animals and WYWH with WISH.....plus, I'm sure you guys will throw in other stuff as usual. Hopefully if I come, my bro and sis can make the trek as well....they loved (well Irv is a long-time fan too, sister has only really seen you once) it the last time! Really looking forward to this...

Is the band going to do the setlist like the In the Flesh tour where you do Animals first, then Wish You Were Here?

Is the band going to do the setlist like the In the Flesh tour where you do Animals first, then Wish You Were Here? It's 3 months away - way too early to tell! We have done that before, though - in 2005 when we performed that Tour show at Nautica (captured on the 'When Pigs Fly' dvd). E

Can't wait for the concert this weekend. It would be awesome to walk in and hear the first few notes of Shine On being played.
Any thoughts on playing Shine On, parts 1-9 together, so WYWH would end with Wish -> Fearless?

Since the set list is TBA for the Newport Show, could you give strong consideration to 'Coming back to Life'.
It seems that a new leaf has been turned between Roger and David and this song has, what I call, the best gentleman's guitar solo, in quite some time, like the Alan Parsons Project.
Anything from this album would be great as a buddy of mine will be seeing you guys for the first time. Regards, Mark

Regards, Mark Hi Mark - That post was actually referring to our last show there in the spring... although I guess it still applies to the upcoming show this October 2, 2010, lol.. Need not to worry about Coming Back To Life - we've played that at almost every show since guitarist/vocalist Jamie Combs joined the band in 2005, as it is a great vehicle to showcase some of his talents. Cheers & see ya in October in Columbus - Eroc
